What about Roku?
Roku is popular in the U.S., but it is a closed platform. The Roku Channel Store has very few IPTV player apps, and Roku doesn't allow installing apps from outside its store. That makes Roku the one common device we can't recommend for IPTV on its own.
Your options if you have a Roku or a Roku TV:
- Add a streaming stick. Plug a Firestick or Google TV device into a free HDMI port. This is the most reliable fix.
- Screen mirroring. Some Roku devices can mirror an Android phone or Windows PC. It works in a pinch, but quality and stability depend on your Wi-Fi.
- AirPlay. Many Roku devices support AirPlay from an iPhone or iPad player app. Again, better for occasional use than every day.
How many devices can I use?
You can install the player app on as many of your own devices as you like. How many can stream at the same time depends on your plan, so ask us on WhatsApp if your household watches on several screens at once.
Device questions
What is the best device for IPTV?
For most U.S. households, a Fire TV Stick 4K or a Google TV device offers the best mix of price, app choice, and performance. Apple TV 4K is the premium option if you already use Apple products.
Can I use IPTV on a computer?
Yes. Many IPTV player apps and general media players on Windows and macOS accept M3U playlists. Message us if you want help setting one up.
Do I need a new TV for IPTV?
No. Any TV with an HDMI port works. Plug in a Firestick or Google TV device and your older TV becomes an IPTV-ready screen.
